In fact she said, "I'm not eating that, bitch". This was because I asked her to eat her dinner, which she thought was disgusting.

How would you deal with this?

Ignore her!

If you make an issue of it she will relish it and say it often.

If she continues to say it to you tell her that it's not nice and it hurts your feelings. Say this in a really calm voice.

Then.... ignore her!

Definitely ignore unless it happens again. Then calmly point out that "we don't use that word"

QueenVictoria · 05/01/2006 18:09

use your usual discipline method and tell her that its not nice to use such a word to anyone including mummy.

And its not nice to be horrible about dinner that mummy has made - she can say she doesnt like it, but not in such a manner.

QueenVictoria · 05/01/2006 18:10

im harsh arent i

Blandmum · 05/01/2006 18:10

While not making an issue of it, I would make my displeasure obvious, as ML says a calm statemnt that this is not acceptable. Playing to it will make a repeat more liekly , but so might ignoring it totaly.

hercules · 05/01/2006 18:11

I would ignore it to be honest.

deaddennis · 05/01/2006 18:15

I'm glad you laughed SD, because I had to leave the room so she wouldn't see I was laughing. I told her that she shouldn't swear at me and I've sent her upstairs. I think she is currently wrecking the place.

She really is a stubborn little moo sometimes. She absolutely refuses to eat practically everything I make, even if I decided to give her fish fingers and chips, she still leaves it. Today she has had half a peanut butter sandwich and a little bit of bacon.

She is upstairs at the moment.
