Just wondering why so many of the offers available to students are, in fact, only available to 'young' students - i.e., those under 25. What about mature students? Why are we left out?
Moaning because I don't get discounted rail travel amongst other things.

I don't recall having come across any that exclude me because of my age... even the bank one would have applied if I'd wanted it to. I'm 48 and I have the discounted rail card. Makes for some comical exchanges with the '18-25' stamp on it! :) You just have to prove you're a student - either by getting someone in student support at your uni to stamp and sign the form or by waving the international version of the NUS card.

What else have you been excluded from?

Red2011 · 21/11/2011 11:04

Ah, that wasn't made at all clear. When I asked last time about the railcard thing at my local station they said it was only for those up to age 25. Off the top of my head, can't think of particular things at the mo - was having a difficult day yesterday and needed to vent! :)

Oh we all need somewhere to vent! :) Actually though I was wrong about not being excluded at all.... I do feel excluded from the uni societies. Mainly because of when and where they meet but also because I'm so different from the norm. There isn't a society for older non drinking students!

One advantage of that though, I am never waylaid as I walk between buildings by the myriad of people foisting fliers for drinking events and offers! :o

Grin I also manage to get to and from Uni quickly as they don't want me in their night clubs looking like the bride of Dracula.

Bastards.
