Too stubborn for toilet training?

DD has been back in nappies for seven weeks after being in pants for 4.5 months. Every day she says she wants to wear pants and we have said she can again after we've been away in a months time (not risking her not cracking it before we go). We have got the potty back out so she gets used to it again (she was off the potty completely and always using the toilet - when she didn't have accidents that is!). She is sitting on it at bathtime and sometimes between nappy changes and has had a couple of successes. However, she is still really stubborn about just about everything and most requests are met with a big fat 'no', but if we say 'are you going to be a big girl?' she then does what we ask.

So, my question is, should we wait till she gets over this stubborn streak (terrible twos - she is 2.4), and risk her getting fed up of asking for pants/getting too used to nappies, or risk her failing again in Feb (I won't put her back in nappies again once she out of them a second time)?
