the start of cradle cap?

When does a dry scalp with a few flakes (on 3 month old) become cradle cap? I've seen lots of threads about getting rid of it, but is there a way to prevent it coming on full throttle? would daily oiling help now? thank you!

I'd say pop some olive oil on now. Can't harm. Grin

get some dentinox cradle cap shampoo - will clear it up in a couple of applications - tis brilliant stuff.

Yes, the Dentinox shampoo is good. Boots do a good own-brand cream too. Cradle cap flakes are oily and sticky rather than dry - it's to do with an excess of sebum - which is why oiling works - it dissolves the sebum.

I used detinox for months on dd, (worked wonders on ds1) didn't shift dd's, two drops of olive oil for a couple of days and it's all cleared up.

Savlon!! (Usually earns me a few Hmms) Doesn't sting in the slightest, nicely antiseptic and moisturises at the same time. The dry skin just lifts off next time you wash their head and it's all healed underneath.

I use the dentinox stuff aswell and then bio-oil when it looks dry, thats helped loads.

thanks - will start with an oiling tomorrow, with dentinox in reserve!
