He's contrary, whiny, obstinate, defiant, totally unreasonable a lot of the time. But also affectionate, funny, innovative and sweet. This is just being seven, isn't it?

I think so. Although mine who is nearly 8 has been showing signs of being a bit more mature recently which is promising :)

Sounds exactly the same as mine. I'm blaming it on being 7 as otherwise it may be something to do with me .

Bummer, mine's 6 and I was hoping she might have grown out of it by 7!

My youngest ds is 9 and he just gets worse with age.....you should've seen the tantrum over his homework today, whining, shouting, stamping his feet etc etc....Jesus!
