9 month old screaming

Hi!
My nine month old girl is really loud and screams when excited or wants to communicate something. She certainly has good lungs but it gets embarassing for me in public. I ignore it thinking its just a phase but it has now become more frequent and I have started getting dirty looks and stares at restaurants and buses, which is making me think that I should perhaps stay grounded till this phase pass. Is there something wrong in my parenting style? Is anyone else having similar isses? Any advice will be gratefully received.

In my experience, it is a phase that passes.

No I shouldn't think there is anything wrong with your parenting style. Ignore the people who stare. Honestly, these people can't have had kids because anyone who has knows that babies are people, not inanimate objects that you can and should control at all times.

Thanks CocoPopsAddict. Its reassuring to hear that its just a phase!

My 8 month old has just started doing this Grin Her elder sisters both did it for a few months.

It is likely to be a phase, but IME that phase can be looooong - DS3 screeched a lot (and turned out to be a late talker) and DS4 19 months still mainly communicates by screeching...
Sorry, if I knew how to stop this, I would share. As it is, I am sitting here with my ears ringing.

I know the feeling PacificDogWood. lets hope this phase will pass soon! Atleast like my mum says- they are clever kids!
