Possible causes of toddler rash?

My toddler has come out in a rash on her back and stomach, nothing sinister, she's well and has no other symptoms. She probably does have sensitive skin and had something similar before which lasted a few weeks, I thought the cause was a change from washing liquid to washing powder for clothes but it's hard to be sure. I don't think I've changed anything, we have given her an antihistamine (recommended by pharmacist) and got ultra sensitive bath wash.

Anyone else have something similar on their DC's and did you ever find the cause?

? Post viral rash - has she had a cold or similar recently? Or she might be about to come down with something - DS2 has this happen quite often.

She has had a mild cold and laryngitis recently, she doesn't get a high temp when she's sick so not because of that. I don't think it's that but I guess that will go in a couple of days if it is.

Despite never having had chicken pox DS2 has been diagnosed with shingles in circumstances similar to these - rash, a bit tired from time to time and irritated from the rash.

What sort of rash? My dd is currently have some rash issues that have nothing obvious to do with changes in laundry detergent/ foods etc.

niamh29 my DD2 is 14 months has a mystery rash. A few clusters of vaguely chicken pox like spots which are very itchy. Mostly on her back, back of neck and down her right arm. She had nasty chicken pox at 6 months and has had 3 lots of 'viral rash' including on her nappy area for a month that didn't bother her. This time she is scratching and really irritable. First spots came after a night of screaming discomfort.

I took her to GP asking if it is shingles. He said not but maybe molluscum. He was very vague and seemed unconcerned. I may take her back to a different GP.

Molluscum contagiosum was mentioned on another thread. I have yet to take DD to the doc as her spots aren't bothering her at all and seemingly there's no effective treatment for it anyway.
