I have just started, and have this evening completed the Cleopatra part of the first assignment, with lots of stresses about references!!!!

Onto the next chapter now...

Really feel full of enthusiasm, which will possibly wane as time goes on, but I hope not.

Please do reply if you are also doing AA100 as I really did not gel particularly with the few people who turned up to the face-to-face tutorial in my area and would love moral support ;-)

How did your first tma go?

starryeyed1 · 24/11/2011 09:35

I did the old equivalent - four years ago (an intro to humanities). I don't know how different it is now but I loved most of it and passed!

I'm starting in February! See how that goes? Hows it going?

pinktransit · 24/11/2011 20:57

I did this a couple of years ago and loved it!
When I went for my first tutorial for the course I did afterwards, they were holding an 'Introduction to AA100' at the same time - and I wanted to do it again :-)

cazboldy · 24/11/2011 21:00

i got 70 in my first tma - i don't know if that is good or average. Am finding this week a bit boring - it's about music divas .....madonna, maria callas, not really my cup of tea. but the best thing is it's only for a week, then you can move onto something else Smile

cazboldy · 24/11/2011 21:06

pinktransit, and starryeyed what did you go on to do afterwards?

LennyGodber · 24/11/2011 21:10

I'm doing it! Am pg and finding it veeeeery hard to care just now though, I just want to sleep! (Also work 3 full days and have 18mo). Baby is due about 3 weeks* after last assignment is due in...should be interesting :)

*waiting for dating scan, but probably having ELCS so unlikely to go over.

I feel a bit like I cba just now but am waiting for 2nd trimester energy to kick in very soon...

cazboldy · 24/11/2011 21:18

congrats on the new baby Lenny Smile

I am mum of 5 lovely dc, the youngest of who just started school

LennyGodber · 24/11/2011 21:26

:) cheers cazboldy!

I think it'll be good for DC to see mum studying, dp is doing MA so it should seem normal to them as they grow up. DD thinks it's great to play with my post it notes and turn the pages of my book so far! The timing is good really as I should be on mat leave for next module, but due to the fee changes there's no option to take a year out so got to keep at it. Managed to get 88 on the first TMA but now feeling the pressure to get another good mark.

LennyGodber · 24/11/2011 21:27

I imagined a whole sentence but didn't type it.

I was wanting to ask if you study with your older DC? I bet that would be really nice, to sit down and do homework together of an evening/weekend.

starryeyed1 · 24/11/2011 22:00

I had another baby and some medical issues so nothing until now, just started Voice and texts. Smile

cazboldy · 25/11/2011 14:54

Lenny 88! Wow well done you! Smile

so which are you rewriting for tma02?

Yeah we do our homework together - it's really nice. I used to sit there anyway, but now I am "there" if they want me but can get on at the same time
Smile

Starryeyed - how are you finding it?

LennyGodber · 25/11/2011 16:16

I'm going to redo the Cleopatra as it's definitely the weaker one, I hated that question :) got tutorial tomorrow, just as well as I haven't really done anything since the last one...deadline very near for the submission too! eek.

Was going to do a bit now as baby supposed to be asleep but I can hear her shouting at the cat - never mind...

cazboldy · 26/11/2011 18:22

I'm doing Cleo again too - i found it much the harder one, but got more positive comments from my tutor, and more suggestions about what i could have done differently - will have to carck on with it soon!

mumtootwo · 03/01/2012 21:52

I'm starting the AA100 course in Feb 2012 - little bit nervous 😒

cazboldy · 05/01/2012 23:49

Hi Smile

It's ok once you get into it. Just submitted the 3rd tma, but not so sure I have done well on this one...... poetry not my strong point!
