16 months not walking properly - should I worry?

DS2 is 16 months and still not walking more than a few steps independantly, he falls over when he runs out of steam or reaches a wall/obstacle and cannot stand on his own. He was a late crawler and I think because he is the youngest of 3 and the older two run around after him he is a bit lazy! That said he seems to have no arches and pretty flat feet which I think affects his balance. I have left a message for my hv to contact me to discuss as at previous reviews I have mentioned my concerns re his arches and feet and she agreed that they were a bit strange but my GP didn't seem worried.
I know after 3 kids I should relax a bit but I've got a niggling worry!

If you're really worried, ask a different GP for their opinion.

If he is walking independently at all he is doing a lot better thasn my DD who was 20 months before she did that! The HV told me they didn't consider it a concern til 18 months. at that stage she referrred her to a physio for assessment, and what do you know, she walked independently for the first time the day before the appointment - typical. The physio says she has a slight case of hypermobility which would have made it harder for her get walking, but nothign to worry about, and sure enough, now she is she is improving in strenght every day and I;ve stopped worrying. I think there is also a bit of laziness there!
I suspect they will say if he is walking a but at 16 months that is fine. Don't know much about the flat feet though.
