baby grinding teeth under gums, or jaw clicking?

Baby is nearly 6months old and as of yet no teeth have come through. I have noticed that there is a clicking sound coming from her mouth, it sounds like she is grinding her teeth under her gums together. Is she teething or practising chewing or is her jaw clicking?

Read this earlier today and now DD's doing it! She's got two bottom teeth and it sounds like she's chewing a rock, which I wouldn't put past her.... have carried out a thorough finger in gob investigation and I can feel a top one coming through, so I think the noise is her grinding top against bottom. Hope she stops it soon, it sounds painful!

It makes me go a bit queasy when she does it, hope it's just her trying to get her teeth to come through. Hopefully it'll stop when they do!
