i did that last year ! all i can say is be prepared to know everything on city road in cardiff and Blaenau Gwent in Wales ! try looking on facebook - there is sure to be a group

Did it last year - some parts are really interesting - others deadly dull as it is covers a broad range of materials. Having said that i got a distinction - probably because i had a great tutor

mustdash · 22/09/2011 14:36

I'm another who did it last year. I loved the variety, and that it meant I had good reason to talk/write about stuff I've always found interesting but none of my friends did.

But.if.I.ever.have.to.read.another.word.about.Wales.I.will.SCREAM

ooh it felt good to get that out.

Great course though. Everyone should do it, or something similar either at school or first year uni.

I didn't get a distinction, but was really, really pleased to get just less than that, after a pretty "challenging" year.

I hope you enjoy it. Is it your first OU course?

um.

I am about to finish this.

you certainly do learn a lot about City Road!

some of it really is deadly dull.

I have just started this, so far so good, it is my 2nd Ou course, got an 85% pass rate in it! i think all of it is really interesting looking, but will let you know as I plough through it.

I did the discontinued one - DD100, def a wide variety of topics, so if theres something you dont like, at least you wont have to spend too long on it! Good luck

Meglet · 24/10/2011 13:38

I might be doing this! Just going to make my first call to find out about it all and the costs / funding.

carocaro · 13/11/2011 18:16

am getting narked off with this, isn't it all just a big theory of the have and have nots and how this plays out in society? my tutor seems very left wing and obvisouly has a chip as I live in a normal part of a posh town.

am staring at tma02 thinking yawnville.

just wait till you get to the one on rubbish!

OU have told me I have to do this if want a particular qualification I was am interested in. I really, really don't want to do it and this thread has confirmed all my fears about how boring it will be.

FoofFighters · 20/11/2011 10:14

I did DD100 in 2007 as my first OU course. found it a really good intro to social science, and a good intro to studying at the OU :)

Duritzfan · 22/02/2012 21:28

Im doing it now - just put in the first tma

crazykat · 08/03/2012 10:59

I'm trying to write TMA02, infact I've just started a thread on it as I'm totally stuck and failing miserably.
Don't know how I'm going to get through the rest of this course
