On Monday it was a party day at my sons school (6 years old ) and they could all wear their own clothes .One child ,David ) not his real name ) came in uniform . I was doing my usual volunteer 20 minutes reading session . And you could see he was getting upset even I was getting a bit choked at this point so I said come and talk to me and I said I would try and sort some thing out . So off we went to reception and asked the lady to telephone mum to see if she could bring some clothes in . No reply so I said " may be shes gone shopping " David says " nah shes in bed ,shes always in bed " I had some spare clothes in my car so I gave them to him to use (boy did he smile) At the end of the day he said he would bring them back tomorrow .Ok no problem I didnt expect to get them back anyway and I wasnt too concerned they were my boys play clothes only from Tescos and not expensive . This morning he gave them back to me in a carrier bag I said thankyou so much . When I felt them they were still wet I couldnt help it I thought lazy bitch she couldnt be bothered to dry them . Then I said to David I really appreciate you giving me the clothes back did mummy wash them or did you do it he said " oh I did it " well I said that was very kind of you. When he had gone I promptly and quietly cried ,that poor little 6 year old if I had known I would have said dont worry about washing them darling I can do it . He is 6 FGS I bet she dosnt bother to get out of bed and get hes breakfast either .

I'm amazed that a six year old boy thought to wash the clothes in the first place. I have enough trouble getting my boys to wash themselves.

I know quite a few teachers who chat about students like this. They're not all soul of discretion saints, sadly

Shepherds watch their flock I wouldnt want you to think bad of his teacher she told me as a friend .I have built up a really good relationship with the teachers in my volunteer work there and she knows for a fact that I do not repeat things if I did I wouldnt be trusted with working there and I cannot risk that as I get so much out of doing it and I really really enjoy it sad as that may be .

imagine if nothing is going on, he isn't being negelcted etc etc...

how would you feel if teachers had been discussing stuff about your kids with other mums?

regardless of the situation that is totally out of order

sparklymieow · 13/12/2005 22:52

My sister works as a family support worker at Social services, she tells me things but never names the people.

hunkermunker · 13/12/2005 22:52

First names, Lockets, yes.

followthestarlover · 13/12/2005 22:52

mandieb · 13/12/2005 22:53

I know she was wrong but as I said it wont go any further I think she could see how upset I was and I just couldnt understand the situation I then thought I was going round with rose coloured spectackles on and that I wasnt in the real world .I just dont understand .

My sister said that she has to tell someone about some of the cases as she needs to get it out IYKWIM, but she never ever names them, even if she knows that I know the person involved.
