Hello everyone, I'm new.

I'm after a bit of advice please - I am having an absolute nightmare getting my 20 month old DD to clean her teeth/let me clean them...

We have tried stickers as a reward, letting her stand on a chair at the sink and play with bath toys in the sink, singing songs, cleaning her toys teeth, cleaning our teeth at the same time-but we are now lacking any more inspiration/ideas...

She clamps her mouth firmly shut and if we do manage to get the brush in at all then it is a really traumatic experience with her crying, screaming and wriggling around, thrashing her body everywhere trying to escape!!

Can anyone help please?? Or should I not be so worried about it?

I am storing up these ideas for later buy any ideas for a 13 month old? Too young to reason with, I make noises for her, only ever get a quick brush then let her have her turn and do mine etc. Becoming a two man nightmare... Tears galore and I'm worried that for all that they're still not done well enough! And she only has 4!!!

Whatever you try - just keep trying! They can be so wilful at this age but they usually get there in the end [hgrin]

Hi all - just to say, I've had a brainwave and am having a lot of success with teeth brushing atm - lets hope it lasts...I have changed DDs toothpaste from an orangey organic non fluoride bloody expensive one which quite frankly tasted rank. She now has a boots own minty one for kids, admittedly has fluoride in it but hey, she's cleaning her teeth! Woop woop! :o

If anyone wants to try out our new app designed at getting kids to brush daily and you're on twitter go to rosiesplaytime and message me. Can give out 40 free .
Let me know if it helps. Has been a godsend in our house and the families that tested it for us loved it. It's called Brush with Jackson.

I agree, I have just found this Flashing Toothbrush in Tesco's and it is great at helping me to get my kids to brush their teeth!!
