is it ok to give my 5.5 month old diluted prune juice to help with her cronic constipation, the doc recommended OTC baby lax but I'd rather use a natural product as a more long term solution.

Great idea, put it in a beaker not a bottle. Good luck with getting her to take it :)

Diluted orange juice can also help with constipation, and as she's nearly at the point of weaning you could try plums and soaked dried apricots as well (obviously peel and de-stone the plums).
