just tried to find an article on my reading list. the website provided has a totally innocuous name but when I got to it didn't seem to be what I expected - some random things to click on including air lines. Somewhat intrigued I clicked on "christian singles" more fool me! took me to a load of porn. good job I;m not faint-hearted. Should I tell my lecturer? he'll be mortified!

yes, he should DEFINITELY know then!

I think some of my fellow students might be more easily offended than me. I guess I can save him embarrassment as I was being a girly swot and looking at something we don;t need to read til next term. Did make me laugh though.

Sometimes websites changed, maybe the site used to be something relevant and useful? (You're sure you typed in the website properly, too? Lots of ropey sites are mistyped versions of normal sites ...)

And you can't really keep relevant sites from having links to inappropriate sites ... on the internet, you're never more than a few clicks away from porn.

It's a random case of using innocuous sounding things. The website I needed was www.thisorganisation.org but he had put it on the reading list as www.this.organisation.org, if you see what I mean.

As yes, so it was him who made the typing error.

There are some good "fake" sites out there - like www.whitehouse.org. I think it used to be porn, but it isn't, anymore.
