Changing younger DD's nappy, looked round and saw that older DD (2.2) had drawn all over the table, chair, tablecloth, wall and radiator. And herself. She thought it was really funny. What should I have done?

I would have made her clean it off herself, told her off, and told her not to do it again.

Thanks. I (calmly) told her off, and have told her that she might not be able to go to the supermarket with daddy when he gets home (her treat). It won't come off. :(

And in future, keep all pens - apart from washable ones out of reach..

Grin gah!

I would tell her this is naughty and unassepable in my best supernanay impression and she must never do it again. I probably would not punish now, but now she knows its not good would if she very does it again. but I think punishment at that age should be imediate and maybe not a removal of a privalidge later on like the super market. I tend to do the stop that now, then warning and if they continue then time out at that age.

what did she use to write if its pencil or crayon then baby wipes are the best to use.

festi · 05/09/2011 17:40

try the babie wipes they may work

Itsjustafleshwound · 05/09/2011 17:41

What sort of pen is it?

I would go spare -

LoopyLoopsPussInBoots · 05/09/2011 19:08

Felt tip. It's mostly off now, good old baby wipes. :) DH came home. told her to clean it up. She did, and asked if she could still go to the supermarket. :) They are there now. :)

Thanks all.

Glad she got to go to the supermarket. 2.2 is still very young; she's still learning. She might also - even subliminally - be trying to get attention while the baby is having her nappy changed. I would have asked her to try to clean it off (token gesture) and told her she wasn't to do it again, and left it at that.
