When did you put baby in own room?

My baby is only a month old but seems to be disliking her moses basket. I have had her in my bed but was toying with idea of putting her in own cot which is in other room. I know the guidelines say 6months in same room but anyone else put their baby in another room earlier?

Jdore, so sorry.

Snowsquonk, if the relative risks are known, please could you point me in their direction. The research I've seen from FSIDS and other places compounds so many factors that you can't tease them apart. It defintely seems that smoking is a massive contributing factor but other factors seem much less easy to quantify. Where did you get the numbers you quote?

There was a massive decrease in cot death after the "back to sleep" campaign started, but that included many things not just putting your baby on their back. It included not letting your baby overheat, keeping the baby in your room, not smoking near the baby, putting the baby at the end of cot etc. So saying that just putting baby on their back reduced the risks isn't true. It was a lot of things put together (including smoking being no longer so socially acceptable.)
