The ds's are staying at their Nannys tonight, will they think they have been abandonded?

They are 3 and 19 months. Ds1 is staying at my moms and ds2 is staying at dhs moms. Me and Hubby are going for a meal and to see Narnia.

Not too worried about ds1 cause he is looking forward to it and will have my brother (who is 5) to play with.

Ds2 is just a baby though and wont understand - will he think we have abandonded him? He knows Nanny well and spends quite a bit of time there with me or dh there too and she sometimes comes over to ours to babysit of an evening but he has never stayed away from home. How will he go to sleep without his 'dagga' (meaning mommy ) to cuddle him and give him kisses and hug him when he wakes up in the night? Hes just a baby!!

I know im being silly but please reassure me!

They will have a lovely time all that attention and Nanny all to themselves.

Enjoy your evening out and try not to worry all night about them.

They'll probably have a better time thatn you!

Tamba - they will both be fine - in fact, it's good for them, and you. As long as the youngest has lots of kisses and cuddles from grandma he will be fine. What is the worst that could happen? he might cry a bit longer but eventually he will go to sleep and he will be looked after lovingly by your parents/parents-in-law.
Go enjoy yourselves and stop feeling guilty - you deserve the break!
We are leaving our dd's ages 2 and 4 with my parents for 3 nights in January to go to New York - now that I do feel guilty about!! but one night is nothing. Everyone will benefit

awe, i know you are right

but i feel like stamping my feet and damamding that i have my baby here with me! He is so cuddly when hes tired and sleepy, and he gives little kisses and lets me stroke his hair...

will be nice though not to have to get up to them at 1.30am and 4am!

and dh had to be at work at 6am in the morning so i will get an undisturbed lie in...
