5 month old screaming

problem is that dd over the last few days has started a really high pitch scream. i know its not pain as there are no tears and she isn't crying. she has got reflux and teething so know the different types of crying iykwim

have got her a dr appt for next week but am staring to worry ss will turn up on my doorstep as the woman next door has just had a baby and the mw has just knocked on the door asking me if everything is ok!

i did offer for her to check dd over but she said that dd seemed happy enough (dd was on the floor trying to crawl).

am sitting here shitting myself now

Sounds like she is in pain to me. Trapped wind? I'd take her to the doctors and have her checked over just to be on the safe side.

Definitely check with doc that there's not a problem - BUT - mine and all my mates 5 month olds are just at the experimenting with their voices stage - are you sure it's not just that? If she's squealing but playing and happy at the same time that's very normal, if she's stopping to scream there might be something wrong. But mood swings go quickly at this age, one second they're grinning the next howling so hard to say.

My DS started screaming at 5 months, he loved it - me not so much! It wore off after a few weeks, but we did enjoy many afternoons of 'the hour of the dying seagull'!

My 5 month old is also taking it in turns to squeal at an exceptionally high level then sing loudly to herself, she is also bawling the house down for ten minutes before she deigns to go asleep - a lovely development

did take her to walk in centre today as it was really high pitch. she is just getting over a cold so thanks to google i decided it must be an ear infection

anyway dr checked her all over and she was giving lots of smiles and blowing raspberries to him, he said its normal and common between 5-6 months
