My DD is 4 and has asked this year about FC coming into the house and "he won't go upstairs will he"?

We said of course not, he only goes downstairs and that we will leave their Sacks down there.

She is not overly worried about it and that was that, just wondered if anyone elses Child has asked this (my Friends 4 yr old also mentioned it)

I can see how scary it would be to a child that FC (who is scary enough at the shopping centre!!) is going to be in the house and maybe even putting presents in THEIR ROOM!!!

Ours are all quite keen now but both DDs have been pretty scared at around 2 years old.

Quite easy to understand if you think about it logically...

I was the same as Mazzystar - didnt help that we lived in a ground floor flat and my mum said that as we didnt have a chimney she would leave my bedroom window open for him! I can remember it vaguely being hysterical and absolutely terrified of some stranger coming into my room so my mum also told me then that he wasnt real - TBH it never spoiled it for me really, presents are presents when you are a kid! I dont recall blabbing to my friends either or my brothers!

DD2 didn't like the idea of Father Christmas coming into her room. So we always got the children to hang their bags over the stairs on the landing and told them that we took the bags into thenm after father christmas had been. She was happy with this and it also helped them to kep believing in him as they knew that we were were helping father Christmas!

How weird, it had never occurred to me that kids might be frightened of FC! Funny how it never occurred to us as kids to worry about, we got our sacks of prezzies at the bottom of our beds! We were always just excited!
My dd is only 2.4 so she doesn't really know about him properly yet.
