A potty training question

Sorry, I know there's a potty training topic, but my last thread there went unanswered.

Ds is 2.1 and we potty trained him a few weeks ago. Now he refuses point blank to wear a nappy at night and if I do manage to get a nappy on him he just takes it off anyway. At the moment I have to sneak a nappy on him when he's gone to sleep but I feel bad about it as he clearly hates wearing them and feels uncomfortable.

Is there anything else we can do? His nappy I'd wet in the morning, but he doesn't wee until his nappy is on and uses the potty if he wakes in the night and first thing in the morning. 2.1 seems very early to night time train though :s

If he wakes at night and uses the potty, then I'd stop using the nappies and just assume he's worked it out. Maybe use a waterproof mattress cover if you aren't confident of him yet though!

My daughter was exactly the same. We kept her in nappies until the BigGirlBed arrived (2wks?) and then that was it. Only 2 wet beds in 5 mths both right at the beginning. I just stick a Terry nappy between sheet and mattress. Worked both times. You have to go with him on this IMO!

Ooh a Terry nappy is a good idea! Thanks Smile I was thinking we needed some sort of nappy that goes on the bed instead of ds! I'm just surprised that he's come along so quickly, everyone said wait til he's 3 to potty train but he'd made his decision and was completely trained within a week and a half and now he hates nappies altogether. I'm not mentally prepared! Lol

Why not use something like this to give you a bit of reassurance. DD was daytime potty trained at 2 weeks before her 2nd birthday and I kept putting a nappy on her at night for weeks and they were usually dry! Silly me should have trusted her.

Yay well I went with your advice and ds's request and he's now dry at night time :) I'm so proud of him, dry inthe day and night in less than a month Smile
