Just wondering whether anyone who is studying social work can recommend any good texts books? I've been looking online but its hard to get an idea of how useful the books really are. I'm looking for literature on the practical side of social work, not just the theoretical side of things. Thanks.

Good luck with your studies.

Are you doing the degree? The uni will give you a reading list. I liked Chris Beckett I felt he books were very readable especially in the first couple of years of the degree.

There are a few books out recently about being a NQSW which are worth a scan to they address stress/emotional impact etc. I think they would be useful for students on placement to.
