What's keeping your two year old girls amused?

I'm putting some stuff together to send via Amazon to my niece. She is two, loves animals and books and I need to send her stiff to keep her busy when my lovely sil gets home from hospital having had a BIG operation. Sil is doing ok but will be pretty delicate when she gets home and so we want to keep lovely niece as occupied as possible.
So far I have Mog book and Cd and Hungry Caterpillar colouring book as she knows that story and is just getting in to colouring books. I have three girls but dd3 is 4 now so at a slightly different stage. All of you with two year olds - what rocks their world right noe?

Sticker books, anything involving glitter, some animal fuzzy felt? My DD1 loves playdoh and animals and really likes puppy playdoh.

What about one of those for real animals or whatever they're called that can be looked after and fed etc?

My DS is 3 months off two but i think this would still be good for a two year old, bought him this latch board two days ago and he hasn't stopped playing with it.

He also loves stickers. Makes huge pictures sticking stickers on paper.

Peppa pig dvds, also a dvd called Here come the 123s by They Might Be Giants which is great for teaching numbers and has lovely songs. The latest craze is her Hello Kitty petshop toy which your niece might like since she loves animals? Books by Julia Donaldson (Gruffalo) and Lauren Child (Charlie and Lola).

jigsaws? As long as your SIL doesn't end up stepping on the pieces strewn across the floor....

Mr Potato Head is a big hit at the moment, so is Animal Snap though that needs someone to play with.

As others have said, she just loves PlayDoh. She has had hours of quiet time using this reuseable sticker book.

Tangled, Toy Story and Tinkerbelle Disney movies are very popular too.

not very pc but my 2 yr old is totally obsessed with hairclips and jewellery at the moment. She has a large selection and I have bought little tin buckets that she sorts them all out into. Keeps her quiet for ages!

Usbourne sticker books are great my dd1 loves the 'dress up' ones

And tangled dvd is very popular at the moment.

And 'i love animals' magazine.

Yes I really enjoyed doing the dollly dress-up ones with my dd when she was that age...

Games you can play lying/sitting down -
-hairdressing
-shopping 'can you get me... something blue, a puzzle and something to eat'
-captains coming/simon says 'simon says... jump up and down'
-making paper chains out of newspaper and sellotape
-making dinner out of playdoh and serving it to you
lots more - am gonna write a book!

Oh yes, DS is totally obsessed with jigsaws ATM. I've got him trained as well now so I can just sit on the sofa and offer hints when he gets stuck rather than helping him with every single piece. He's closer to 3 now though. His other favourites which he'll play with for hours since 2 or so are his train set and happyland toys.

DD (2.2) LOVES her dolly tea set at the moment. She's got quite a nice one that she got for her birthday but any old mugs would do. I give her a bucket of water in the garden and a decaff teabag and she makes tea for everyone she can think of for hours. Huge puddles of water, so definitely an outside game, but I often give her her afternoon snack on her dolly plate as well, cut into the right number of pieces for whoever she's having tea with today. She eats them all of course, but she really loves the game.
