Should I try potty training DS (2 tomorrow)?

DS has started saying "poo coming" which sometimes means poo has come, or that wee has come. Also "change nappy" (generally after poo has come). He's quite happy to sit on the potty although only for a short amount of time and nothing has ever come out.

I think I assumed he wouldn't be ready until at least 2.5 and so hadn't expected to try before then IYSWIM. But with a 9 week DD as well it would be nice to have only one set of nappies .

TI think the thought of puddles at first might be putting me off .

Try letting him run round naked for a day, and see how things go

I've just started my dd, she was 2 last month and we've had some real success.

I started a thread today, I'll do a link.

HTH

Have a go, like FS said have a day with no nappy. We've had a few accidents but it's not that bad cos there's not alot of wee to clear up.

Link doesn't work (but will search for it)

I think I should try - but something is holding me back .

Stupid links!

Tbh if I was in your position with a 9 week old I would probably hold it off.

Does your dp/dh have weekends off? Could you do it then when you have a bit of help?
If your ds takes to it then the few days after might not be so bad.

I suppose I feel that of he might be ready then I don't want to miss an opportunity....but equally don't want to traumatise any of us .

Hae been discussing it with DH who agrees we might give it a go.

Go for it.

Tbh I've tried a few times over the last few months but it's only this time dd has started to understand what it's all about.
