DS2 15 months loves pots and pans and a wooden spoon... I sing along either nursery rhymes or made up songs about him or what I am busy doing to his musical efforts.

Also loves empty cereal, oxo, paxo, egg boxes and kitchen roll tubes for building or putting his cars into and through.

Chalk in the garden, or crayons indoors.

Toy wise apart from cars he loves happyland things... DD 3.6 yrs has quite a collection and he loves putting them in and out of pots or houses or cars.

things to empty very popular here -
if you have boxes to climb in also good
towers to know down
books on a book shelf they get out and look at themselves
if you have outdoor space/room - toddler slide, small ride on
also things to push, little buggy, wheel barrow - child size of course
some children like drawing - use superwasable pens

I have a huge tub of lentils that my ds likes to pour into another tub with a cup. I also let him 'help' when I wash up, soapy water in a washing up bowl and some stuff to 'clean'. Also if they aren't the type of toddlers who choke on stuff, flat marbles that dcs can spoon into ice cube trays with a tea spoon.
My ds also likes playing with a ball, drawing with felt tips and stickers, and pushing a pram around the garden. we also have a xylophone and a little casio keyboard that he loves playing with.
