Can you walk out, just for a bit? Is there anyone to hold the fort?

Oh please get yourself some free time. I was feeling like this a couple of weeks ago, so on the advice from my hv, i arranged for my mum to ds for an afternoon a week. Its only for about 3 hours, but to know i've got it to look forward to cheers me up when i'm feeling down.

God I find any scrap of me time helps, even if I'm just wandering around the neighbourhood or having a drive.
When I'm wild with frustration, dislike my kids and feel utterly claustrophobic I go down to the sea and dip my feet in (even in this weather) and it lets off just enough steam so that I won't actually go mental. Or get a newspaper and go for a coffee and cake in town.
I really feel for your rickman, I swear.

I have days like this. It's when my tank is completely empty. I don't like myself and I don't like anyone else either, especially the kids.
It sounds mad but I go out in the car and do crazy shout singing which often ends up with bawling my eyes out. It's a real release. I feel better afterwards.

God I can't believe I've just admitted that.

Be a perfume then-forget about being a mum and answer my thread!

charliecat · 19/11/2005 19:57

RU Ok? Can your X not have them for a couple of days?

dropinthe · 19/11/2005 19:57

This is coming from the mum who got rid of her kids this arvo to a desperate husband-told him to take them out of my life for a day....and he has!!!

I shout alot in the week-I hate myself for doing it-I hate their reaction-I hate it because it is what my mum used to do with me but if You can't smack them then what the eff can you do???

charliecat · 19/11/2005 19:57

Sign into MSN if you want to graon in my ear..xxxx

dropinthe · 19/11/2005 19:59

Being a supermum-no,a normal mum is the hardest thing in the world-if they are getting love from you the majority of the time then they won't take the shouting as bad as you feel they are taking it. Don't beat yourself up rickman-your life is hard at the mo-we all know that!

charliecat · 19/11/2005 19:59

What r they doing thats pissing you off? If mine are pissing me off I plonk them in front or the TV/computer?video, so thier voices are not irritating me...lol

i feel like this a lot too and DH is around to help as well.

i often threaten to walk out.

Sometimes it all gets too much and then you walk into the kitchen and see the washing and all the dirty dishes and u just want to SCREAM!!!!!!!!!

HRHWickedwaterwitch · 19/11/2005 20:02

rickman, you're not awful, you're normal. I have moments like this, most of us do. Can you just get away/out for a couple of hours alone if your mum's there? Having some time alone really does help ime. Are they in bed now?
