I'm currently using Tots Bots on my dd, and I love them, but she's started getting ezcema and it seems to be exacerbated where the wet nappy is next to her skin, as it isn't so bad underneath the fleece liner. She's almost too big for the size ones now and I'm thinking about getting fuzzi bunz as her next size nappies, instead, because they are totally fleece lined. My question is: if the nappy is wet but not dirty, do you change the whole nappy or just the stuffing? I don't replace the wrap every time I change the tots bots you see, just if it is soiled or once a day, but because the fleece liner is attached to the nappy not the wrap, that gets changed too. Can I do the same thing with the Fuzzis?
Thanks for your help!

I tended to change the whole thing, as the fleece bit can smell a bit if you don't! However in an emergency, you could just change the insert, or replace it with a tea-towel, wad of loo paper, folded up T-shirt, anything you have to hand!

I change the whole thing. Particularly if there's eczema involved, it's worth it, and fuzzi's are so lightweight that they actually dry quicker than the inserts anyway.

OK, I get the hint. It's just that they're expensive and I've only budgeted for size 2 Tots Bots, not for the 2 sizes of fuzzis I'll need . Does anyone have experience of using both? How do they compare, containment-wise?

never tried tots, but i like fuzzis a lot.

if you get on with tots, what about bumbles? or stuffie nappies (both on kittykins.co.uk). i love bumbles, tho they fasten with nippas - actually dead easy once you've had a go. they're one size & shd see you through to potty training, also cheaper than tots iirc.

oh sorry, the point abt bumbles is that they're completely fleece lined (ditto stuffie).

how abt bumbles with a few fuzzis for quick/easy changes when out? shouldn't be much difference in price compared with size 2 tots?

Caligula · 19/11/2005 19:00

Hint about fuzzis - the best and most economical stuffing I've found is a terry nappy folded round plus a super absorbent yellow kitchen cloth from tescos, 3 for 99p.

Much cheaper than their fillings, and more absorbent as well.

Bumbles - tots bots with full liners! Perfect - thank you That looks like my answer.

I use combination of fuzzis and tots bots. My DD is a heavy wetter and I find fuzzis are more prone to leaks which is a shame as they are so slim.

Would echo trying a bumble to see if that makes any difference.

Are totsbots more absorbent than fuzzis then?

roosmum · 20/11/2005 20:53

caligula, i don't have any tots (do use bumbles tho, which are similar-ish) - but i sometimes get problems with fuzzis (as have starlover & giraffeski iirc) randomly leaking..? dunno what that's about, always adequately stuffed, then mostly they don't leak, v. occasionally they do. no way could i leave ds overnight in a fuzzi, so he has bumbles. they def absorb more IME.

Chuffed · 23/11/2005 01:45

I use bumbles at night and fuzzi's during the day, they last about 2-3hrs with a fuzzi microfibre pad and a little longer with a wonderoo pad. I have used a fuzzi at night with a fair bit of extra stuffing and the wonderoo hemp pad but I did put a wrap on top as well as a just in case.
