Getting them both to nap at same time. HOW???

it may be impossible but I'd LOVE it if ds and dd had a nap at same time.

Ds is 2 and sleeps for just over an hour at 12ish.
Dd is 8weeks an sleeps win she pleases. Although there seems to be a pattern emerging. So far I've only worked out a little bit of it tho.

Can I get them to sleep at the same time?
HOW?

I'd love to have a little bit of housework/ me time before ds gives up naps!

I have 2 the same age - they are 2 & 4 now. My (then ) 2 yr old always napped at 12ish - right after lunch, so I just got the baby on the same plan. I had htings going on in the am - to get the 2 yr old busy and in need of a nap, then I would get her down, then the baby, it was a bit hit & miss for the first week or so, but it just got to be a routine and they both seemed to need it at the same time, and now as I said they are 2 & 4 and we still follow the same routine, it keeps me sane and i get 2hrs to relax/clean - whatever..... also - make sure the baby only has a little nap in the a.m - before the lunch nap - or she will not be ready for a nap - so unfiar to expect it to work out for both of them, mine would be up at 6am - little nap at 9.30 ish , then need another one 12ish.....

forget it, all the effort to try and get them to nap together will take an age, but which time the older one will prbably not want a day nap in any case!

Use the time when one is alseep to spend a bit of time just with the other.

forgot to add, the reason i made it 12 was that i had to be out of the house at 3 to get the older one, but if i didn't it wouldnt be a whole lot easier and more flexible.

ha ha! i have a 3yr old, 23month old and 4month old and can just about get all 3 of them to sleep at the same time for 1 1/2hrs after lunch .
i work on the 2hr awake rule so work backwards. if you want baby to sleep at 12 then dd needs to be awake from 10am, 10:30 latest. then do your best to keep her awake and busy. when really desperate and tired i go to bed with baby, feed lying down then co-sleep. nap time is not housework time in our house! it's MN time!

Put 8 weeker in sling when ds2 is sleeping, then do housework or have me time. I found the sling fantastic for getting on with things forgetting you have a baby until they get bigger and their feet end up dangling in the washing up bowl Grin
