"simpler" telephones/tvs for my dad with visual/spatial/neurological problems

Are there any electronic products on the market with an absolute minimum of features? My dad can't really use his television (I say television singular but it's three boxes and three remote controls!) and struggles with telephones.

Products designed for children or people with a learning disability would be great.
