Free entertainment in York

Going reluctantly to a family thing in York on Sat and will have a couple of hours to entertain my DDs (3 and 1) but I have no money and everything I've found on the web seems to cost. What is fun and free? Thanks

The National Railway Museum is free and kids just love it. Great for a couple of hours of letting off steam.

Gotta be the National Railway Museum - free, loads of fun even if you are really not particularly into trains at all (ie me).
