lap tops and rules

Hi my DD is 11 and we have a lap top she can use (given by a family friend)

at 11 what kind of rules should we set ?

obviously going to look into secure settings etc

should she have in her room ?

time scale on it ?

at the mo she plays a little on games club penguin mostly ,
i dont want to go over board but i know need to set rules down ...

any advice thats worked ?

I don't know, but I'm interested to hear...

me to ....

so far we have allowed 1- 1/2 hour a day .... none before school , and can be split in to 30 min sessions and she seems very happy with that ....

and security settings , plus coads pass words for club penguin and mushy monsters ...
