help - quick retorts needed for ds1 being told he's the shortest in his class

he's a little on the short side and the other boys in the class are reminding him about it - apart from what my mum use to say to me: 'they don't make diamonds as big as bricks!' anyone got any wise words my ds1 can fire back with?

"I can grow taller but you can't change your face" - lol

thanks for the replies so far - your right I don't want him to become defensive and insult back, its more celebrating shortness and helping his self-esteem!!
he's only 5 ks so early days yet. i'm 5' 2" and dh is 6' 2".

well the old "the best things come in small packages" of course

Or something along the lines of "if all you can see in me is my height then you are truly a stunted individual"

singersgirl · 15/11/2005 15:30

Fortunately for my DS1 (also a titch at 7 in Y3) he can say "Yes, that's because I'm the youngest". He is - but there are plenty of children in Y2 and Y1 taller than him - actually a boy in DS2's Reception class is pretty much the same height.
That's the best we've thought of. I've also talked to him about how all adults are different heights and I'm not as tall as (INSERT NAME OF FRIEND'S MUM HERE) etc.
Any other suggestions gratefully received!

My legs are the exact length needed to reach the ground and no longer - that's why!

The best things come in small packages. I was the smallest at school, and DS is one of the shortest too, but he is used to me being only 4ft 11, so I just say it doesn't matter.
