bowl of smarties on a stool in front of the telly used to work for me - until the bowl gets full of hair!

or if you're taking him to hairdressers - what is it that upsets him so much? Maybe the chair isn't comfy, or it takes too long, or he doesn't like the washing / spraying? Or the itching on his neck? If he's 4 I'm sure he can tell you what's up and then you might be able to think of a way round it.

our town has a special children's hairdressers with mini-dvds etc. costs a fortune but it is worth it!

Does he need a haircut? My DS2 was like this and I let it grow long. One day he decided he wanted it cut and has been fine since. That was the easy way out, but I like to pick my battles.

we go to the barbers for ds (4) - we always have to go to the same one as they give him a lollipop afterwards! I also take a change of top with me as he moans about his neck itching afterwards.

Find a hairdresser/barber who can deal with children - ask all your friends. My eldest used to scream the place down, every single time. Luckily, we found a barber who is just fantastic with LOs and now all my friends go there too.

Where do you live? Any where near Herts?

G1LLIAN · 24/05/2011 19:15

NO I DONT LIVE IN HERTS USED TOO ALSO HE HAS DELAYED SPEECH AND COMMUNICATION IS DIFFICULT SO WHAT DO I DO!!!!

does he have to have his hair cut? Lots of kids look great with longer hair. it would be a lot less stressful for you
