I tend to keep ds2 (4yrs old) inhis normal routine. Do feel a bit mean sometimes though but equally need the time with dd1 (age 13) and time for me. Fortunately he cannot tell the time yet so can be fobbed off to a certain degree. I wouldn't mind a bit of a lie in holiday mornings though - but at the cost of my evenings? What do you do?

Unless we are out or have friends round in the eveining then we stick with the routine. We don't get lie in as we have to be up and making breakfasts.

yep - that's what i do. Just speaking to some mum's outside playschool yesterday and they seem to be muc more liberal than me. Don't want ds to get wind of their sleep where you fall routines Grin

Yes we used to put them to be half an hour later at weekend and holidays so they woud stay in bed longer in the morning.

dd1 is 4, and has the occasional late night if family or friends are visiting. unfortunately she never sleeps in the following day.

Yes, ds2 aged 4.5, stays up later in the hols, have ds1 who is 9, so they do tend go to bed later, we used to dupe ds1 when eldest wanted to watch X Factor, ds2 would sneak downstairs, I would feel bad and mean, as I remember hearing my mum, dad and older brother listening to The Two Ronnies while I was in bed and hated it!

I try to balance it, both having late nights with some when they both go to bed at normal time together during the hols. I do like a big snuggle on the sofa all together watch something like the X Factor with popcorn. Fun.
