beach hut birthday party

I am tempted to postpone Ds's birthday party until June as it will give his Dad a chance to finish his coursework and will give me us more time to plan the party. We live about 30mins from the beach and so I am tempted to hire a beach hut for the party. However, it occurs to me that it would be a bit awful if it rains. We could ask if we could put up a gazebo or go and shelter in the beach caff with coffees I suppose.

Does anyone have any positive experiences or tipsfor beach hut parties?

I should perhaps mention that DS will be 3 and has not had a party as such before, although has been invited to a few. He is extremely sociable and has started to get quite interested in his birthday that is coming up. He also likes the beach very much. I am thinking pirates as a possible theme.

Sounds superb, but could you have an alternative venue in case it's really bad weather? The problem is if it's rainy it's often windy too.

Pirates would be really good fun on the beach. I have been to a party on a beach with a tent which was really good for those people who wanted the shade and the food and drink were in there too.

Hope you manage to do it. Have fun. x :)
