They say you've never known a deeper love than when you become a mother; likewise, you've never known a deeper sorrow than when you wanted to be a mother but couldn't, or were a mother and suffered the loss of a child through miscarriage, death or other circumstances. One in six couples find they have difficulties in conceiving, there are many would be Mums out there who are longing to be able to post something on Mumsnet. Some may never realise this dream but, despite their illness causing their infertility they need to be given the chance. Many could be helped by fertility treatment but at the moment the 'postcode lottery' means that only some will be able to access treatment on the NHS. It's not right that NHS treatment, for any illness, should depend on your postcode and I would like to ask for your help to support our campaign for fair and equitable treatment on the NHS. Just imagine for one moment you didn't have your children and would never have the chance to be a Mum and then take a moment to either post your thoughts here or sign the SHEFairtility Campaign on the national charity website www.infertilitynetworkuk.com/News/?id=15260 .
If you could spare a few minutes more please visit the Funding for Fertility Section of the I N UK website www.fundingforfertility.co.uk and download the 'Funding Cut Secretary of State for Health' template letter and send to Andrew Lansley asking for more support for those who, without help, will hever become Mothers.
Thank you,
