Trampolines - how big?

We have a tiny garden but my boys (aged 9 and 4) would love a trampoline.
I know generally the bigger the better (snigger!) but space really is a problem, any advice as to the smallest we can get away with please?
Thanks

Would have to say bigger is better. We bought our 4 DCs a trampoline for Christmas and they spend hours playing on it. It has been worth every penny already.

Certainly make sure it is big enough for both to jump at the same time or you will forever be refereeing whose turn it is.

I have an 8ft TP one which is great, its more than big enough for ds and a couple of friends however they are only 4 :) But for a small garden 8ft should be good :)

I have a 12-footer which eats up most of our garden, but it is so worth it - we have had it for 3 years now and it has been the best investment ever. Now that the weather is nicer, the DCs want to go outside on teh trampo after school instead of watching telly - result!

I got the second largest one in the toy shop, I think it is 10'. Have 2 girls, 7 & 9, and they use it extensively. We have had 4 girls on it at times, but that usually ends in tears. It isn't great for more than 2 children at a time.
