tips for snuffly baby

My wee boy is 7 weeks and has the snuffles. I've been using saline nasal drops to get him sneezing, but wondered if anybody has any other ideas or tips to help him.

Thanks

I used to put mine over my knee, face downwards and catch the drips. Also he slept in his car seat to help him cope with secretions. I am not sure if this contradicts advice given nowadays but 11 years ago it was fine!

I used the saline spray rather than the drops, seemed to work better. You can also use a baby nose aspirator to suck out the mucus if he is struggling to breathe. No use at the moment but when he is over 3 months the karvol plug in vaporiser is brilliant :)

Karvol's great and must admit I used it for the first time at 8 weeks.

Also, prop up the head of the cot a good few inches (I use the paperbacks I keep intending to read and don't find time for) - just imagine trying to sleep flat on your back if you have a really snotty nose!

A big bowl of warm water near the cot to humidify the room can help too.

It's rotten when they're poorly, even when it's just a cold so I do feel for you OP.
