When to start Nursery?

My daughter is currently 17 mo and I am expecting a baby when she will be almost 2 yo. I want my daughter to start nursery but don't know when to start her. Should I do it before the baby arrives (in which case it will be a month before baby is due as thats the soonest she can start) or about 6 months+ after baby is born when shes coming up for 3? My biggest worry is that she will feel pushed out if I bundle her off too soon.

Any advice please?

Hmmm, that's difficult. I read from research a while ago that they found the 'best' age was around 2 and a half. Before then it's best for them to form a strong relationship with primary carers. I have friends with children with similar age gap to what you're saying and her eldest just does 1 full day and 2 mornings, I think they started half a year after youngest was born but really works for them as eldest loves nursery and means she gets some time to spend with youngest alone as well!

Yes the more I think of it the more I think that is the best option too. Thanks for your help
