Not sure I can cope with having them all over for a sleepover again. DD has said that she is willing to have the sleepover in the barn but there is no toilet down there and her friends can be really silly and I don't think I would be that sympathetic if they all got scared, I mean there is a light down there and the door can be locked and we are only about 100yds away in the house and they would have a mobile but these are the sort of girls who would think it ok to ring you for the stupedest things.

What can I do with them where I can drop them off and then maybe pick them up and go for lunch?

AM even more grumpy than ususal today do to post wedding hangover so please be kind!

Depends if you think they are old enough to be left in the cinema.

At that age the ones we did that went down best were murder mysteries, done around a 'dinner party.'

Nail/hair/pamper party? Local beauty places do them, depends on the type of girls they are really.

Swimming party? They are always knackered afterwards, not sure you could disappear for lunch though.

Canoeing or activity party, like rock climbing wall or roller skating or something? Horse riding?

Hire a karaoke machine for the barn, do a daytime thing?

How about a soap / bath products making party? Heard that they go down really well.

Dd wanted a sleepover party for her 8th but I said no, I couldn't face it lol! In the end we settled for a 'pyjama party'. She invited about 8 or 9 girls from her class home - they came at 5pm (in their pjs!), we played some games (prob not for an 11 year old though), they watched a dvd, had pizza and birthday cake and went home again at 8pm!

It was one of the most successful parties we have done. It was nice weather and they particurlarly enjoyed playing out on the climbing frame together.

Woul also recommend an activity party - swimming, trampolining, other sports etc. Particurlarly if you can find somewhere that also provides food - very easy.
