tots bots-seem very bulky

Hi Everyone,
I have been given a big bag of second hand tots bots nappies, and have used them a few times but they seem really bulky. They are the right size for ds so that isn't the problem. I'm not sure which type of tots bots nappy they are, but they are towelling with a towelling insert and a fleece insert sewn into them, and velcro fastenings. I am happy with them in that they don't leak and ds seems comfortable enough in them, but they just seem really bulky on him. As he is only 3 months he spends a fair amount of time lying on his back but these nappies are so thick that they make his bum and legs stick up in the air! Does this sound right, and is it ok?
Thanks in advance

i have some of these too. am trying to use on my 9 week old dd and agree they seem very bulky. also used on ds 7 years ago and had forgotten he must have looked like this too. have no solution i'm afraid. As ds grew though he looked less nappy and more baby. Also changed to an insert nappy when he outgrew them.

They are bulky, at least compared to disposibles. You can get slimmer nappies but I love that big fluffy bum look.

Just thought i would add owains mum, that i've looked at my older and well washed totsbots and they do lose some of the fluffyness over time too, so look less bulky. I've also just this minute unpicked the velcro from one of my nappies and will use with a nippa which i also think gives a neater fit. It looks exactly the same as my other nippa ones now.

There are slimmer fitting Tots Bots. The new Bamboozles, for instance are quite slim fitting, as are the easy Fits.

At 3 months though, most babies will look a bit heavy bum side if wearing a nappy, but around 5 months or so, they kind of loose the, 'does my bum look big in this...'

There is also the Easy Fit which is a AIO, although I'm more of a two parter person myself.
