Alternative To "How To Talk So Kids Will Listen.."?

Hi. I have started reading this book again, but after one day remembered why I gave up the last time.
I find this book very complicated and difficult to understand and read.
And the American turn of phrase...sorry but it is so irritating!
Can anyone suggest an alternative?
Thanks!

Raising Our Children, Raising Ourselves is still quite American...but I preferred it to How To Talk.

Thanks Just.
Don't any UK experts write books about these things?Grin

What about 123 Magic.

Well unless you count Supernanny, no! Grin

I don't think 1, 2, 3 Magic is the same sort of thing...includes Time Out I think. Although I've not read it, so I could be wrong.

Raising Our Children is a really good read. And if you want to take it a step further, Unconditional Parenting is a real eye opener.

It's not quite the same thing (and again, is American) but the No-Cry Discipline Solution by Elizabeth Pantley is easy to read, and organised so you can dip in & out easily.

Bumperlicious also did a crib-sheet of How to Talk - it's here. It summarises what's in the book in a much easier format. You need a Google login I think though.

Thanks everyone for the alternatives.
That crib-sheet is very helpful angeldog,Thank you.
