Newborn cloth....

I used tots on DD (rainbow), but since we only started after 6 months with her, I didn't have the newborn swamped in nappy issue.

Bought a couple of size 1s rainbows off ebay to get an idea of the size, but they seem insanely bulky!!!

I trust tots, so ideally would like to use them, but unless i have a biggish baby, I think I'm gonna have problems for a few weeks.

I've been told about using muslins before - anyone tried? Is it any good?

I didnt use muslins on a newborn (we started cloth at about 2 mnths) but have used them on dd loads when Ive run out of nappies (Organisation not being my strong point There are loads of websites which show different folds etc but tbh all I ever did was fold a muslin into 3 one way then in half the other to create a long pad and use a triangular folded muslins over that and hold it all in place with a Motherease wrap and it worked lovely. Have added facecloths as pads on occasion too or microfibre cloths. All worked a treat and dd never minded either.

I used muslins...was ok...but you need to change quite alot (if your lo wees like mine do!). You could use two muslins at a time or get some small terry's. I foudn the folding a faff for ds2 as ds 1 constantly needed me to be quick...or he destroyed my handy work before the muslin got to ds 2's bum!

I have used bimbles (only have 5 hence the muslin also) ...found them less bulky than tots. But I am not using tots (size 1's at night and size 2 fluffles in the day) at 11 weeks as bimbles are now too small. I find tots fluffles and bamboozles less bulky...and I am folding size 2's down!
