out of date infacol?

Am feeling awful!

SIL, BIL and Dniece where here yesterday to see 6 week old DS. He was a bit colicky so they gave us their infacol as they said they didn't need it anymore.

I wasn't sure about using it as its aplied to the mouth could have germs blah blah blah, DP tells me to stop worrying.
Gave it to DS last night and he had a good sleep and is fine. Seemed colicky again just now so we gave him some and I fed him. Then DP reads the label and it expired 28/02/11. Shit.

I know it was really stupid to give it to him without checking the date but DN is only 6 months so it didn't cross our mind, not an excuse I know.

DS seems fine as he did yesterday, fed, was awake for a bit and dozed off. I can't help worrying and I feel really stupid!

I guess I just want to know if you think he'll be ok/wwyd?

Thank you

Seriously he'll be fine. I know it's a worry and actually when my ds was tiny I worried about every single thing! It's fine. Don't panic, it's really not going to harm him and it's only a month or so out of date. Just remember to check next time which I am sure you will after this!! The expiration date on it is more to say that it works at it's best within that time, not that it will poison him if you give him a it a few weeks afterwards. Don't panic!! xxxx

Thank you! Since DS was born its like I have to heads, one logical one that thinks what you said and one crazy one that worries about every little thing and thinks I need to worry about everything! Think I get it from my mum.

Thank you for your reply has really put my mind at ease! :)

WHat you say about worrying is normal too so don't worry about that haha!! I was terrible with ds. I remember being hysterical once because he ate a malteser off the floor when he was about 8 months old. I vividly remember squashing peas for him so they weren't too round and he wouldn't choke on them Hmm!
