How many do you need to buy for a good stash?

It all depends on how often you're planning to wash them. I usually throw mine in with a nappy wash, and i do one of them every three days.

I have a obscene ammount good few, about 30 or so, of differeing absorbancies. Far too many really, considering i've only had five periods in the last four years...

I have about 12 - 15 I think. I've only got panty liners though as I use a mooncup and that's sufficient for me washing them either with the night nappies (not so often now hurrah) or in the general clothes wash whichever is sooner when I need them.

Very happy with them. I might get more when I'm not needing to do the nappies so much to tide me over between washes.

I could get away with about eight plus a sponge or a cup from time to time but it's fun to have a silly amount of different coloured ones to suit my mood. TMI, I like the contrast: red on green, red on orange...

I have a mooncup and lots of pads too, I don't always feel like using the mooncup but I think 12 pads should do if you keep up with the washing, bung them in with the nappy wash, which ones are you getting?
