Baby boy (9 months) puked in his cot in the night. Any advice as to how to clean the cot mattress - it's saturated and stinks! Think we need to purchase a mattress protector.....

He slept through, not a peep from him all night as usual, but woke in a huge pile of dried sick (hair plastered, all stuck in his eyebrows and eyelashes, down his sleepsuit - I am gipping thinking about it) no idea when he did it but feel like the worse mother this morning that he probably slept in his own sick all night. Can't believe he didn't wake us - poor boy!

One of my DCs did this too years ago- makes you feel so bad when you find them in the morning!
Given its a nice day can you take it outside and give it a really good wash down with a bowl of warm water and whatever washing liquid you have. Leave to dry outside- then when dry sprinkle it with Bicarbonate of Soda and gently rub in, leave for a while and then hoover off. I did this in the days before Febreze and it worked fine- then went out and bought a mattress protector too! Good luck.
