What age/weight roughly can i use size 1's from?!

Rebecca is 7lbs 5oz (or was on monday) and they are TOO BIG! I HATE disposables, but they are hanging off her!

How long before i can use my cute fluffy nappies?!

u got nippa ones? or aplix? even with aplix if you over lap the tabs then secure with a nippa then they should fit better.

starlover · 02/11/2005 20:56

use terry squares! much, much nicer on a newborn....

JessicaandRebeccasmummy · 02/11/2005 20:57

got both misdee - its not so much the nappies, although they are a bit big - its the wraps too.... there's big gapes in the legs (ok so Rebecca does have chicken legs!)

or a couple of muslins together

The nappy lady site has a pile of different folding options.

flamesparrow · 02/11/2005 20:59

Hmmm... might need different wraps then? Wool ones look like they'd be snugger...

JessicaandRebeccasmummy · 02/11/2005 20:59

got ME wraps and a few that misdee sent me - all are too big!

maybe i should jsut wait until i fatten her up a bit.... surely the evil mummy bottle feeding will help gain the weight

flamesparrow · 02/11/2005 21:02

pmsl - went with the bottle then

She might just have scrawny legs naturally - could be great when she is a teenager!!!

flamesparrow · 02/11/2005 21:02

Oooh oooh - wrap cotton wool round her legs!!!

starlover · 02/11/2005 21:04

i would suggest a smaller nappy and a different wrap

if you have aplix wraps you should be able to make them pretty snug round the legs

flamesparrow · 02/11/2005 21:09

Is calling someone's newborn's legs scrawny rude??

You know I not bein mean!!!

JessicaandRebeccasmummy · 02/11/2005 21:13

nah, you're ok FS.... she's complete opposite to Jess who is a chunky monkey!!!

Need to find a wrap small enough now...... GRRRRRRR BABIES!!!

(im a clothie convert - Jess was 5 months old before i started!)

JessicaandRebeccasmummy · 02/11/2005 21:35

We used cotton bottoms wraps size newborn on our ds when he was under 6lbs, (3 weeks early) and they fitted around his pidgeon legs.
They looked silly because pretty much any nappy/wrap looks silly on a teeny baby, but they did fit.
Congratulations, I take it that bump is now Rebecca?

JessicaandRebeccasmummy · 03/11/2005 08:30

Yep, bump is Rebecca, and gorgeous she is too - even with her chicken legs!

Have wondered if i can get away with plastic pants from boots for the time being until she grows a bit - dont really want to fork out for new wraps for the sake of a few weeks!

I have some of the cotton bottoms newborn wraps that I don't need right now. If you want to borrow them until Rebecca fits your other wraps I could send you a couple?
I can send you an image of ds wearing his newborn wrap when he was extremely diddy, so you can compare leg sizes?
PM me if you are interested.

northender · 03/11/2005 21:06

jarm did you get the wrap I sent ? Never heard from you and didn't want to bother you at the time. Congrats by the way. hope all's going well.

JessicaandRebeccasmummy · 03/11/2005 21:53
