Me and my three yr old are in a 'pretending to be puppies' phase at the moment - I'm daddy puppy (naturally) and he's ickle puppy, and we crawl all over the house yappin and stuff. ...

Ok.. I'll get me coat. Perhaps I'm "Interfering"?

M2T · 24/09/2003 14:00

Tom and Jedy, you'd make a lovely pair!! Tom are you available for stud breeding purposes?

jedy · 24/09/2003 14:03

I sniff DD a lot. Her neck mainly. Do most mums do this? I am sure this is animal instinct as I think I can smell her mood.

I shall disappear off now all embarrassed

Mo2 · 24/09/2003 14:19

Oh yes, I do LOTS of sniffing.... If I come home from work before the DSs are back from nursery I'll often have a quick sniff of their pyjamas to tide me over until they're back.....

M2T · 24/09/2003 14:21

Yes, I've got to own up to a whole lot of ds sniffing! He smells fantastic even when he doesn't smell too good IYKWIM.

ghengis · 24/09/2003 14:24

I am much more 'natural' e.g. sniffy (!) with DD than I was with DS. When she was a baby I held her close to me as often as possible and spent ages just bonding with her. As a result we have a much closer relationship than I have with DS who is now 11. I feel really guilty that I didn't do the same with him.

I sniff and cuddle her, stroke her hair and skin, kiss her tummy, etc. Lovely! There's nothing like the smell of a sleepy toddler, is there?

jedy · 24/09/2003 14:28

about smell ds really had lovely smell especialy on his head up to 3mo when smell changed. but i stil sniff him

WSM · 24/09/2003 14:29

I'm the same on the sniffy front. DD smells best just before a bath, when she has got as much concentrated 'smell' (her own smell I mean) as possible

Mo2 · 24/09/2003 14:31

DS1 smells best first thing in the morning when he's been all tucked up under a duvet....

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........

WSM · 24/09/2003 14:34

I've just bathed her, given her a coating of baby powder and tucked her up in bed for her nap. This convo makes me want to go and get her up so that I can sniff her !!!!

Also, are DH and i the only ones who when watching progs with babies in, especially babies who have been/are being harmed or are ill (fact or fictional) get the massive urge to go and wake their baby/child up and give them a snuggle ?

jedy · 24/09/2003 14:35

see? you're all animals
i love animals so i'm not trying to insult anybody

your not the only one WSM, thre's a thread about dead squirrels

OP posts:
WSM · 24/09/2003 14:39

I know, I posted on it. Odd and not very clear title for a thread though, I'm not sure it gives any clue as to what the thread is about !

Tom · 24/09/2003 14:42

Sniffing - ALL the time - I adore my sons smell - I nuzzle him and smell him all the time - it's like nectar to a bee - its a smell that makes me a happy man.

My mum tells me I still smell the same to her - and I'm 35 - so I think this is something that lasts a lifetime. I just wish I could bottle his smell.

jedy · 24/09/2003 14:45

i like squirrels, so i cheked it

OP posts:
WSM · 24/09/2003 14:50

I like squirrels as much as the next woman but I was still a bit surprised to see that your thread had little to do with said rodent, that's all !

jedy · 24/09/2003 14:52

no it wasn't mine, i was suprised too

OP posts:
Mo2 · 24/09/2003 15:38

The dead squirrels thread was mine - sorry - but you all looke at it didn't you??
Anyway, it was sort of about squirrels....

Get a bit bored of some of the thread titles sometimes, esp the "my baby poos in it's nappy - is this normal?" type...

Very into sniffing though....

WSM · 24/09/2003 16:06

Sorry Jedy and Mo2, got you confused ! As you can see, it doesn't take much
