Benefit Advice for New Student

Hi all, I'm due to start my uni degree in September. I have 3 dc 1 of which I claim disability benefits for. I am informed that when I start my degree and enter into student funding etc, my carer's allowance will stop.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there any advice you could give as to alternative funds to cover the loss? Or will I just have to deal with it?

Thanks in advance

Claim income support. You may qualify for a small amount as you may retain underlying entitlement to carers allowance. Seek advice on whether they are saying it's your study that's makes or no longer available for 30hrs plus caring or the finance that nils it.

Also possibly claim housing benefit?
