myself and DD are invited to DD's school friend 's house first time.Any suggestion what to take as a nice gesture?

I like to give people a plant - either for the garden or the house. A nice sustainable gift that they will have for a long time!

Not sure I would take anything either - maybe nice biscuits/cake to go with coffee or tea she will offer you.
